The idea behind darkmode

Your day.
A calmer backdrop.

Considered colors for the screens you spend time in. Start with quiet charcoal, try something playful, or build a palette that feels like you.

Explore darkmode

A small change to the working day.

seafonic darkmode is a browser extension that adjusts page colors on supported websites. It starts with HubSpot and gives busy sales, support, and operations screens a softer backdrop. It changes appearance while preserving the underlying app workflow.

The website lets you explore illustrative contacts, sales, support, and reporting screens with invented example data. These previews demonstrate colors rather than reproduce every live app screen.

What you can do today.

Choose your starting point.

Pick from nine palettes: seafonic, slate, fog, ember, ink, bubblegum, slime, pool party, and cherry. There are quiet grays, deeper charcoal, warm accents, and playful pink, green, blue, and red combinations.

Give each site its own feel.

Set a default theme, then choose a different palette or turn darkmode off for an individual supported site. Remove a site override to return to your defaults.

Return to familiar places.

The extension puts recently used supported sites at the top of its controls. This list stays in your browser and records site identifiers and last use times, rather than individual URLs or page content.

Fine tune and import.

Open the palette studio to adjust nine colors, including backgrounds, text, borders, links, and primary actions. Download the example CSV or import a valid CSV or seafonic JSON palette. Website edits are temporary previews. In the extension, choose Create or edit a palette to adjust colors directly, and preview them directly on the supported page you have open. Apply keeps the colors for the selected site or your defaults. Cancel or closing the popup restores your previous theme. Applying also saves a card under Personalized themes, above the presets. These cards stay in this browser and receive sea themed names automatically. You can optionally include a nickname, which is not added to shared links. Palette file imports and saved collections belong in your seafonic account settings. Account syncing is being connected.

Pass the colors along.

Copy a preview link or code, export a palette CSV, or use your device’s share menu where available. A preview link can be sent through text, WhatsApp, Facebook, or any messaging app. It contains only the palette colors.

Preview before choosing.

Anyone can open a shared palette link without an account and explore the screen choices and theme toggle. A link represents a fixed snapshot. Editing the colors produces a different link.

Your collection, without the noise.

My palettes and the optional community collection are being connected to seafonic accounts. Account saving is not live in this preview, and the interface keeps saving disabled until authenticated access is available.

The planned account flow lets you name and save personal palettes, add one by code, and keep it alongside the presets. Once a shared palette is accepted and saved, it stays in your account until you remove it. Nobody else can change or delete that saved copy.

Community publishing is a separate choice, off by default. Published snapshots receive a playful generated name without public customer details. Sharing uses links and codes, with no unsolicited invitations, email searches, comments, or inbox notifications. Duplicate community color combinations are grouped together.

A light touch on your pages.

The extension reads existing page colors and applies styling locally. Photos, audio, video, graphics, embedded frames, and editable content are excluded from direct recoloring wherever possible. Status colors and brand colors may remain unchanged.

Site styles evolve, and some cards, controls, gradients, or embedded screens may need additional tuning. Turn darkmode off when checking exact customer facing email or page designs. Support is limited to the sites permitted by the installed extension, rather than every website.

Clear about permissions.

Chrome’s “read and change data on sites” permission allows the extension to identify colors and apply theme styling. It does not collect or upload page text, messages, passwords, or customer records. Local settings stay in your browser until account syncing is connected.

Shared palette links are public to anyone who has the link. They contain colors, not your account details or private palette name. Saving a link does not imply a palette has been saved to your account.

Getting started.

This is a Chrome preview installed with the developer mode flow. A Chrome Web Store release is planned and has not been approved yet. Preset themes work without an account in the current extension.
